About the gallery
The Legacy Art Gallery was Michael Williams's gift to the University of Victoria. Williams was renowned for his personalized hospitality at nearby Swan's Hotel. Our staff will give you a warm welcome and introduce you to the current exhibits.

The Legacy Art Gallery has undergone renovations to transform itself into the University of Victoria’s primary gallery space. Teaching and research spaces have been added to the facility, which continues to showcase the Michael Williams collection, as well as other material from the University’s rich and diverse collections. The Legacy Art Gallery is a lively and engaging centre for art that is easily accessible to the community and enables students to study both art and curatorial practice.
